Angelina Jolie & Global Action for Children
Angelina Jolie announces the establishment of Global Action for Children (GAC)’s new headquarters in Washington, DC at a news conference held at the National Press Club on Thursday.
Angelina Jolie said, “The numbers associated with this problem are staggering. It is overwhelming and the scale of the problem seems to give many an excuse for inaction. In many ways it is better to think of these children one by one — each deserving of our care and attention, each being of equal value, and each being a test of whether justice or injustice will prevail.
“I am here to simply ask you to think about orphaned children not as a burden but as a great opportunity. Their education is an investment in our future. They have had to work very, very hard to survive, but when they are given a chance, they grow strong, stronger than most. The Lost Boys of Sudan are a great example.”
The GAC is a nonpartisan advocacy organization focused on on increasing funding by $2.5 billion per year by the U.S. government for programs that support orphans and vulnerable children.

Brad Pitt Changed My Sister A Lot
Angelina Jolie’s brother James Haven gave an interview to British weekly Grazia. James Haven speaks out on Angelina Jolie’s relationship with Brad Pitt and why they work so well.
On the rumors that Angelina Jolie is controlling: “I have never seen any sign of tension between them. They make all their decisions together. It’s rubbish that she tries to control him. They have a balanced relationship; they each do their stuff. I’ve never seen moments where one is nagging or controlling the other.”
On how Brad Pitt changed Angelina Jolie: “Brad has changed my sister a lot. They have an extraordinary bond, but not on the usual level. Brad is so strong for her; when she feels vulnerable, he has the most incredible strength. She says she couldn’t have adopted more children after Maddox without him.”
On why they work: “The great thing about Brad and Angelina is that they really get each other’s sense of humor, and make each other laugh a lot. They talk about politics a great deal and are very creative together with the projects they are working on. If it keeps going the way it’s going, they’ll be together for life.”

Pax Thien Jolie
Angelina Jolie has completed her adoption of 3-year-old Pax Thien Jolie (previously as Pham Quang Sang) from Vietnam. The mother-of-four has left the capital Hanoi, where she obtained Pax’s visa to take him home to L.A. The family departed from Noi Bai Airport via a Gulfstream jet.
Said Angelina on making Pax’s transition as smooth as possible: "It will take him a while to realize he has a family and that his new life is permanent and that it won’t keep changing."
Angelina Jolie debuts her new son, Pax Thien Jolie, in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time since his adoption last week. The mother of four was joined in Vietnam by a welcoming committee: big brother Maddox, 5, and little sister Zahara, 2 (10-month-old Shiloh was home with Brad Pitt), as the 3-year-old now joins the world’s most famous multicultural family.

Wedding Bells for Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie ?
Star Magazine is reporting that Angelina Jolie’s mom’s (Marcheline Bertrand) last dying wish was for her daughter to marry Brad Pitt. Will Brad and Angie be walking down the aisle together sometime soon?
Here is their report:
“Marcheline asked Brad to take care of Angelina and the kids [their adopted children Maddox, 5, and Zahara, 2, and their biological daughter Shiloh, 8 months,” says the source. And she made a similar, equally impassioned plea to her headstrong daughter.”
“She spent the most time with Angelina — she told Angelina that her dying wish was for her to marry Brad,” says the source. “Even during her darkest days over the past months, Marcheline [had urged] Angelina to marry him. Marcheline adored Brad and believed he was an angel sent into their lives to take care of Angie.” So now, adds the source, despite Angelina publicly vowing in the past that she and Brad would not marry, “there is no way Angelina’s going to let her mom down.”

Marcheline Bertrand Passes Away
Angelina Jolie is in mourning after her mother Marcheline Bertrand lost her battle with cancer on Saturday. The former actress had been diagnosed with the disease almost eight years ago. She died on Saturday afternoon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
In a statement released by Jolie yesterday, the star revealed she, her partner Brad Pitt and brother James Haven were at the hospital when Bertrand, 56, passed away.
Bertrand, who was partly of native American descent, had supporting roles in movies like Lookin' to Get Out (1982) and The Man Who Loved Women (1983), but gave up her acting career to raise her kids as a single mum, after divorcing their father, actor Jon Voight, in 1978. Angelina said that her inspiration to become an actress was instilled by her mother not her more famous Oscar-wining father, with whom she is thought to have little contact. Bertrand always stayed on the fringes of Hollywood and produced star-studded documentary Trudell in 2005.
Jolie confirmed her mother was battling ovarian cancer last month, but confessed she expected her to win her fight with the disease. In a TV interview with CNN talk show host Larry King, the actress revealed her mother was "doing good", adding, "She has fought for six years and she's a remarkable woman, she's very, very strong and her spirit remains unbroken."
A private funeral is to be held and the family have requested that donations to the hospital's women's cancer research fund be given instead of flowers.
